It will be awesome.
Yeah, cause the guys with UGO now didn't do anything. I thought you were above this, Shoe.
I can't wait to see what comes of this. I know it's a pipe dream, but I'm still aching for a feature heavy print magazine with a heavy design focus. I'll sit here and pretend that conceding to the idea of a quarterly somehow makes that plausible.
Unfortunately, when it comes to writing, people tend to go with who they're familiar with. I'm guilty of this as well, but I try to branch out and check new content when I get the chance. I'm interested in working in this industry, so I would hope that people aren't just blind fans and look for the best content, regardless of who it comes from. So I guess I can see your point. One thing that worries me about game sites these days, is they sometimes hire people strictly for eye candy (Jessica Chobot and G4 come to mind), and at least for me, I'd much rather see someone who knows the subject matter well, and is passionate about it. I really can't understand why UGO would have kept on some of the newer writers who tend to exaggerate and make lists such as (the top 5 most irritating RPG characters) just to get attention. I'm not saying they're all bad, but stuff like that doesn't attract me to the site. There are still some solid writers there though, so I'm not going to give up on the site.

No offense to anyone who enjoys his work, but the last time he made me laugh was when I was fifteen?
Let me say I was surprised the man worked for EGM and kept his job long after I realized I didn't find him funny anymore. This was a magazine that numerous times had to restate the fact that they were targeting an older audience. Now I'm not denying the fact that many people reading video game magazines aren't going to enjoy Mr. Seanbaby and his "humor", but I also wouldn't put him at the top of my list for humorists I'd ask to write for my new and upcoming project.
I'll also put it out there that as a distinguished humorist, I would love a job writing for Shoe in this new project he has lined up. Is there an application out there?
I have to say I enjoy his style. I love the dynamic of Shane, Crispin and Seanbaby on broken pixels as well. Maybe I'm a simple man.
Oh, and Crispin: We miss your comments man. Come on. Show us some love.
I recommend you have Crispin continue working his Peggle in the shadows: clearly he isn't -interested- in the Sore Thumbs limelight. Perhaps he should write a stylebook for news, previews, reviews, and features to help everyone get things started? I mean sure, his articles are entertaining, intelligent, and downright suave: but if Crispin doesn't find them fulfilling, who are we to solicit his genius thus? Minds should be left to the work that comes to them most naturally. Maybe for Crispin, this consists of some serious Peggle. Only time (and Crispin) will tell.
Question, Will you guys be looking for other employees to help out with this? I just graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in marketing and am stuck in the job looking loop within this horrible economy and would love to jump into a new venture.
legal issue's with a name like that?
I wish you the best of luck in this new enterprise, and I will, of course, follow it from the very beginning.
I wish I hadn't gone with Bernie Madoff with my investments.
Where's Crispin gone off to? I love his smart aleckey tom foolery, and his low brow hi-jinx!
Either way I'm gonna check out all that stuff, but it might be cool to see all of you guys back together again.
P.S. I never knew there was a facebook group. Cool!
Also, Crispin come back! We miss you. We can't lose you to the sea! :)
I'm planning on donating and I'm joining the Facebook page.
Even tho i know i won't be a mag, can make of the other mags out there be less crap? I will donate my whole student loan.
Seriousness good luck im sure everyone will like it even the one who say u suk
I would be interested in investing on this project of yours. Let me know how I can reach you or we can schedule something to talk about your plans.

Reminded me a lot of my college journalism days - sleep deprivation and the pressure of a crazy deadline make you do some weird things.
I wish the best of luck to all of you, though. And WE MISS YOU CRISPIN!
