  • Matt Millsap · 10 months ago
    Awesome opossum!
  • mercurius_01 · 10 months ago
Dan, were you not ready for the photo? you look like someone caught you off guard. and is that one of those old school tiger hand held things?
  • Shoe · 10 months ago
Nah, I tend to make strange faces when my photo's being taken. :)
  • reidypeidy · 10 months ago
The second link is not working for me. Is anyone else having the same issue?
  • JD · 10 months ago
    what happened to part 2?
  • john tv (Ricciardi) · 10 months ago
    Part 2 link is broken!
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
Hmmm... Seems to be working now. The hosting site must have crapped out for a while. It can't handle serving more than 100 fecal greaseburgers at a time.
  • John · 10 months ago
It was great listening to that. I was cracking up the whole time. Thanks again, guys.
  • Jonny · 10 months ago
Tell us the truth. Is Denny's providing the mysterious "backing money" you keep referring to?
  • Shoe · 10 months ago
They were funding us with an initial $10,000,000 investment, but then pulled it because of what Crispin wrote above. Now they're suing us for $10,000,000. That's a $20,000,000 swing in one post! I thought Obama was gonna fix the economy!
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
Everything would've been fine if they still had the Minnieburgers.
  • JD_Ure · 10 months ago
minnie burgers are a lie. 4Mb + B/C>=1Fb +M/C (whereas B is bacon, M is mushroom and C is cheese) Hell, any dishwasher worth his salt knows this equation.
  • Chris Tilton · 10 months ago
Burger King now has mini-burgers, ironically called "Burger Shots," invoking memories of the bloody BK parody burger chain, "Burgershot" from the GTA franchise. I wonder if BK realized this at all.
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
Burger King seems pretty hip with their Facebook lose-a-friend promotions and amazing videogames and whatnot. I'm sure they're GTA-savvy. Beef imitating art imitating beef.
  • JD_Ure · 10 months ago
more like cow ass imitating beef imitating art imitating beef
  • digipen89 · 10 months ago
All I could find that might remotely be what Crispin's game is:

    Little Magician's Magic Adventure

    Wikipedia was no help.
  • dave · 10 months ago
For a moment there I thought Crispin was doing translations for hentai games...
  • digipen89 · 10 months ago
Hey. Why can't hentai games be for a casual market?
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
    I wish.
  • Steve · 10 months ago
I'm glad I didn't donate. WTF is this?
  • Andrew A · 10 months ago
It's awesome, that's what it is!
  • Shoe · 10 months ago
Well, we *used* a tiny bit of the donations for this, but we're using the rest of it way more legitimately. They're helping us to build "Project P" at the moment: http://sorethumbsblog.com/post/72144010/new-pro.... :)
  • john tv (Ricciardi) · 10 months ago
The sub shooter you were talking about is In the Hunt, from Irem. :)
  • Josh H. · 10 months ago
Yes it was and it was hard as fuck. I would be mortified if that was my game test.
  • cvaldez · 10 months ago
So then that's a sequel/remake to Sqoon, which was for the NES, also from Irem?
  • sdstone · 10 months ago
Did you record this yesterday? I totally went there (downtown SF) for lunch yesterday. I felt so bad the rest of the day that I had trouble going to sleep. I think it was the cold 'sausages'. I think I cried a little.
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
Just go sit on the toilet until you feel better.
  • Snesboy · 10 months ago
    Crispy you look good!
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
Thanks! Keep in mind that photo was taken prior to consumption of the $12 Wild West Fecal Greaseburger.
  • Snesboy · 10 months ago
I have to try one of those.
  • digipen89 · 10 months ago
Hope you didn't use the Denny's bathroom.
  • MrRogers · 10 months ago
Great! My place of employment has block access to the Dennyscast. drats!
    Bob Evan's - Now that's quality.
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
Seriously--right up there with Cracker Barrel.
  • MrRogers · 10 months ago
You want to know a funny little tidbit about Cracker Barrel?
To bad I'm telling you anyway. (^_^)

I once applied at C.B. and on the application they had algebraic equations [for a dish washer!], seriously.

"Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally" when I wash, rinse and sanitize.
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
Wow--good to know in case I ever need a job at Cracker Barrel. I better know how to solve for X!
  • Jeff V. · 10 months ago
I believe the game you guys were thinking of is "The Hunt for the Red October".
  • Jeff V. · 10 months ago
Oops! The game you're looking for is "In the Hunt", which was mentioned already. I was thinking of the other side-scrolling submarine shooter.
  • borrowedchief · 10 months ago
Pretty flippin epic. And I could eat Pancake Puppies ALL DAY LONG!!!!
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
They do look pretty damn good, actually.
  • Brian · 10 months ago
Haven't gotten a chance to listen yet but I followed your "rad background tunes" link and found something very disturbing about the singer of the last song in the collection.
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
    No spoilerz!
  • JD_Ure · 10 months ago
It's a picture of styrofoam covered in sand, with a little cup of motor oil on the side.
  • czartim · 10 months ago
    iTunes link?
  • Shoe · 10 months ago
    None...sorry!
  • czartim · 10 months ago
    Fix it my friend! http://www.libsyn.com/

I only listen to podcast when I'm out and about. :)
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
Thanks for the link. We'll do it up right for our Red Lobster Dennyscast.
  • Brocken · 10 months ago
Shouldn't it be the Lobstercast, then?
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
That would make too much sense.
  • ATC_1982 · 10 months ago
i remember as a child on trips from TX or NC when going to CT we would stop at Denny's. I only remeber getting the cherry cheesecake only on ever stop up there.

Nice post cast and now I must supply money for meals at this establishment to get a good podcast to continue. Damn you taxes need to hurry up.
  • Joe Rybicki · 10 months ago
My sister used to be a food stylist. Truly! And the funny thing is, they're allowed to use whatever they want to make the food look good (it's true that white glue is used as a replacement for milk in cereal shots), except the food being advertised MUST be real. So the milk can be glue and the strawberries can be plastic, but the Kellogg's Corn Flakes MUST be Kellogg's Corn Flakes.

However, that's not to say the food can't be manipulated in other ways. So, for example, ice cream can be smeared over a styrofoam shell to make a perfect scoop-sphere, or a cooked lasagna can be flash-frozen to make it glisten better. It just has to be real, it doesn't have to be presented as you'd serve it.

    I thought that was interesting.

And oh yeah, I liked the show.
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
Thanks Joe! That's interesting about the food stuff, too. Maybe I'll try the lasagna flash frozen next time.
  • jin · 10 months ago
ah man! my internet's throttled… cant download shit atm.

can't wait to see whats you lot are coming up with next…
  • BxLxSx · 10 months ago
"$13 for a burger...that's almost good restaurant prices."
  • Chris Tilton · 10 months ago
Fun Denny'sCast guys. Question. Can Crispin take a short video of the Game.com? I've heard the sweet sounds of Batman & Robin for years, but I've never actually seen what it looks like, and what you press to make those sounds. I can't find ay videos online of it anywhere!
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
I can try. The Game.com has the contrast of a calculator wristwatch and the motion blur of the original Game Boy. It would probably be easier for me to recreate the game on an Etch-a-Sketch.
  • Trickman Terry · 10 months ago
Maybe I'll attempt a quick video of the game play when it arrives. My Batman & Robin game.com cart should be coming in the mail shortly (Yes, I'm serious). :)
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
Wow--you're joining an elite club of gamers, Trickman. I'll teach you the secret handshake next time I see ya.
  • Trickman Terry · 10 months ago
lol! I just miss hearing it played over the Ziff intercom and I need my fix every once in a while.
  • JD_Ure · 10 months ago
How awesome is A Life Well Wasted? I really loved the loose conversational style of 1up yours, but this shows how some extra production polish can make a huge difference(no offense Skip). I especially liked the way he masked the ambient noise in the interviews with music fades.
  • Tosus · 10 months ago
    Hi!
I plan to listen to the Cast, but may I request that you provide the MP3 files as enclosures in the RSS so that we can download it in iTunes directly? You'd be best off splitting the post in two in that case, some podcatchers can't handle multiple enclosures per post.
I'll let you know what I think of the show when I've listened to it!
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
Yeah, lemme look into this. I just got the Video Professor series on VHS, so lemme see what he has to say about this "iTunes" thing. I just finished the tape on daisywheel printers.
  • KindGalaxy · 10 months ago
Shoulda gone with betamax man, that VHS shit is just a fad.
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
Video Professor talks all about Betamax on tape 7, right after the section on the 5.25 floppy disk.
  • Pieman · 10 months ago
nice podcasts but i'd like to subscribe on iTunes. I'm pretty sure you'd get a few more fans aswell
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
Thing is, I'm not sure how regular these podcasts are gonna be. I think we'd turn off any newbies once they heard the audio quality and hot ordering action.
  • borrowedchief · 10 months ago
Are you guys going back on Tuesday for a free Grand Slam?
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
That deal sounds way too good to be true. Plus, I think free at the San Francisco $12-burger-Dennys = >$5.
  • Nick · 10 months ago
Yeah, but free greasy sausages and mangled bacon is worth the risk. Plus I'm excited to see the freakshow. I better bring a poopsock for the ride home.
  • ArrestedDeveloper · 10 months ago
The new project sounds great, just make sure that you guys do a podcast as well. I can't go on much longer without Crispin's bat man and robin noises as a part of my weekly life.
  • digipen89 · 10 months ago
I just noticed how monstrous the Game.com was to the recording device. Holy crap. The Game.com could Jason Mason the hell out of that thing.
  • Jonny · 10 months ago
Free Denny's today (February 3rd)! Think of all that money you could have saved your investors. Come on folks, we're in a recession here.
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
    We blew it.
  • Asanab76 · 10 months ago
Grand Slams for all - Nothing like podcasting to artificial Syrup and Sausage Links.
  • Shoe · 10 months ago
I really wanted to go, but then all I could think about is how crowded San Francisco Denny's could be with our huge homeless population. If I were them, I'd be trying to get 6-8 free meals in today.
  • A. Fitch · 10 months ago
Good call. Greg Ford and I tried stopping by Denny's yesterday, but in the words of G. Ford, "every bum within a five-mile radius" was already there.

    We went to Subway instead.
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
This is what we missed (courtesy of Michael Donahoe's Twitterings): http://twitpic.com/1bf01
  • Brandon · 10 months ago
Haha yeah Todd Rogers is really weird. He made a few appearances on a podcast I used to listen to called "All Games Interactive" back in 2007. All those classic game record holders are weird.
  • Jeremy · 10 months ago
Well done gentlemen, I'd love to hear another one day. Uh, though if possible, a quieter location would be great, haha!
  • Shoe · 10 months ago
We did this at 3 pm and picked a back, out-of-the-way booth...and it was still noisy! We need headsets with mics that'll capture our eating noises up-close. :)
  • Brian · 10 months ago
You guys should bring your podcast to IHOP instead--then you can get some cred from the global community. It also doesn't hurt that they have better food.
  • Shoe · 10 months ago
    LOL...but food-wise, Denny's > IHOP!
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
I'm pretty sure the International House of Pancakes works like an embassy, too, so you can seek diplomatic immunity there if you commit a crime. Not sure what happens if you hold up the IHOP, though.
  • John · 10 months ago
I love these stories, guys. Keep 'em coming. Can't wait for Waffle-House-Cast.
  • CrispinB · 10 months ago
Waffle House is called Mister Omelet in my neck of the woods.
  • Mucudadada · 10 months ago
    Just saw this:

    http://gamecinemahd.com/cutscene

    Congrats! I'm excited to watch!
  • John · 10 months ago
great podcast hope there is more to follow and looking forward to the project keep it up guys.
  • Reni · 10 months ago
    Dan "Shoe" Shoe? Really, Crisp...?
  • aspro73 · 10 months ago
I thought it was Sub Hunter...

Dennyscast was great, and don;t worry about the sound quality, it had higher production values than most of the VG podcasts I listen to.
  • Graham · 10 months ago
    Photobucket FTL!
  • Anonymous · 10 months ago
    Hell yeah!
  • Nathan Phillips · 9 months ago
Put this on iTunes so I can easily continue to listen to your podcasts please!
